Fontana is a safe, well-maintained, family-oriented community situated in the heart of the Inland Empire in Southern California. Located off the 10 and 15 Freeways, this city is home to nearly 130,000 people. The Metrolink rail service is conveniently located in the city for an easy commute within the Inland Empire and to the greater Los Angeles area and the Ontario International Airport is only 10 minutes away.
Shopping, entertainment and community resources are nearby at the Ontario Mills Mall, the California Speedway and at numerous regional parks, colleges and universities. There are currently 39 parks and recreation facilities located within city limits, and mountain preserves and desert resorts are less than an hour away. Many classes and sports programs are available at the several community centers around town and 23 other sports organizations are currently active in the city.
Also located in Fontana is Sierra Lakes Golf Course, a par 72, daily fee course with 18 holes of championship golf in a country club setting. Fontana’s Performing Arts Center features musical, dance and theater performances and the Mary Vagle Science and Nature Center offers displays, hiking trails, and a petroglyph site. The Josephine Knopf Senior Center provides senior citizens with activities, classes and referrals for legal, medical and tax services. Many seasonal events and activities are held at the Miller Community Center and Park such as the Scarecrow Fall Festival held at the end of every October.
